We remember the greats like Queen Nefertiti, Kwame Touré, Winnie Mandela, Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba, Haile Selassie, Huey Newton, Che Guevara, Muammar Gaddafi, Fidel Castro, and the many other great leaders who worked hard in their mission to fight for Black liberation, Black excellence in education, freedom mentally and economically in a world that dehumanized everything Black. Today, we as a people, are standing on the shoulders of these great ones through the many struggles that they went through to get us to where we are today in America and in the diaspora globally. We remember Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Rosa Parks and even occasionally the history books and media will mention Frederick Douglas, Nobel Drew Ali, Carter G. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is scheduled to deliver the Saviours' Day 2022 on Sunday February 27th. and an International Saviours’ Day was held in Accra, Ghana in 1994, drawing thousands to the Motherland. Saviours’ Day has most often been held in Chicago, but previous gatherings have also been held in Gary, Ind., Detroit, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Washington, D.C. Louis Farrakhan changed the spelling of the commemoration from Saviour’s Day, as it had been, to the plural Saviours’ Day. Farrakhan’s leadership, Saviour’s Day returned in 1981 in Chicago.
